{"id":1117,"date":"2016-03-31T02:58:42","date_gmt":"2016-03-31T02:58:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/surfcoasttimes.com.au\/?p=1117"},"modified":"2017-12-08T14:05:23","modified_gmt":"2017-12-08T03:05:23","slug":"green-scene-set-for-hook-and-vine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/living\/green-scene-set-for-hook-and-vine\/","title":{"rendered":"Green scene set for Hook and Vine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FOOD, fun, and environmentally friendly practices will be the focus at Torquay\u2019s Sustainable Hook and Vine Festival next weekend.<br \/>\nInnovative and eco-friendly brand Earth Bottles will be featured, showcasing their award-winning products, offering event-only specials and assisting the festival to be free of single use water bottles.<br \/>\nAttendees are invited to assist by bringing on-site hydration station.<br \/>\nPlastic Bag Free Torquay is also partnering with the festival, allowing patrons to reuse bags that can be found at their on-site bins, with the aim to make the festival a plastic bag-free event.<br \/>\nThere\u2019s also lots of fun to be had on the day; dive into the nine metre-high shark slide or take on the \u201cBig Kahuna\u201d mechanical surfboard.<br \/>\nChildren\u2019s performances will begin early with sets by The Adventures of Herbert and Valerie at 11am and Willow Star at 11.40am.<br \/>\nA huge afternoon of entertainment will follow, with Imogen Brough and her band, Adam Harpaz, Zeffa Music, The Mac Project and Madhouse.<br \/>\nFestival ambassador Matt Dempsey of Gladioli will be speaking and sharing his views on sustainable and seasonal food choices.<br \/>\nOf course there will be plenty of tasty treats too, with pop-up kitchens by Clyde Park Vineyard and Bistro, The Love Mussel, Growlers, Uber Mama, Ginger Monkey and others, including options for children and those looking for something other than seafood.<br \/>\nBeverages will be provided from breweries and wineries throughout the Otways, Torquay, Winchelsea, Geelong and Bannockburn.<br \/>\nThe Sustainable Hook and Vine Festival will be on Saturday April 9 from 11am-6pm at Torquay Common.<br \/>\nTickets are on sale now.
