ACTIVE April kicks off tomorrow (Friday), and all Victorians have been urged to take part.
\nPremier\u2019s Active April encourages people across the state to do 30 minutes of activity every day throughout the month. It\u2019s free, fun and part of the Victorian Government\u2019s commitment to get more people active and healthy.
\nThe initiative\u2019s ambassadors this year include Paralympian Milly Tapper, exercise science professor Paul Gastin, netball champion Bianca involved in Premier\u2019s Active April by getting used to including exercise into their everyday routine,\u201d she said.
\nMore than 60 per cent of Australian adults fail to meet the recommended daily levels of physical activity, while 80 per cent of children don\u2019t exercise enough.
\nVicHealth research also shows on average one in three Victorians are inactive for more than seven hours during the day. for Premier\u2019s Active April at activeapril.vic.gov.au.
\nIt’s free to join, and every participant will receive: 10 free passes to a participating YMCA or local government facility one hour free tennis court hire at Melbourne Park or Albert Reserve one free Get into Cardio Tennis session Aquarium, and a chance to win prizes including entry into the Tennis Finals.
\nActive April was a great way to encourage Victorians to develop active habits.
