THE Torquay Crime Investigation Unit are calling for the community’s assistance following the theft of a motor vehicle carrying two people in Cumberland River over the weekend.<\/p>\n

Victoria Police has issued a call out to the Surf Coast community after reports of a vehicle with a camper trailer and annexe was stolen in the early hours on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n

It was revealed that the vehicle containing two people and their two dogs had been parked at a rest stop on the Great Ocean Road when the incident took place.<\/p>\n

“Around midnight a male offender has jumped in the vehicle with the male and female occupants, along with two dogs, sleeping inside and drove off,” a spokeswoman said.<\/p>\n

“The 20-year-old Wallan woman was dragged a short distance inside the annexe of the camper trailer before falling onto the road, causing a minor injury.<\/p>\n

“The 20-year-old Wallan man remained inside the attached camper trailer until the vehicle broke down in Lorne and the offender fled on foot.”<\/p>\n

One of the dogs was reported missing at the time but since been found.<\/p>\n
