{"id":115674,"date":"2023-09-06T21:00:27","date_gmt":"2023-09-06T11:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=115674"},"modified":"2023-09-06T21:05:40","modified_gmt":"2023-09-06T11:05:40","slug":"coutas-captain-goes-back-to-back-in-best-and-fairest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/sport\/coutas-captain-goes-back-to-back-in-best-and-fairest\/","title":{"rendered":"Coutas captain goes back-to-back in best and fairest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">THE Bellarine Netball League (BNL) A Grade best and fairest award is heading back to Queenscliff in consecutive years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Queenscliff A Grade skipper and goaler Kaitlin Gladman has been awarded her second-straight A Grade best and fairest medal after a stellar year individually and collectively with her side under head coach Katrina Daws.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gladman polled a whopping 35 votes on her way to comfortably claim the count, seven votes ahead of Newcomb defender Jessica Duke\u2019s 28 votes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_83048\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-83048\" style=\"width: 364px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-83048 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2023\/09\/0G2A8508-scaled.jpg?_t=1693981192\" alt=\"\" width=\"364\" height=\"546\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-83048\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Newcomb&#8217;s Jessica Duke finished runner-up in the A Grade count. Photo: MICHAEL CHAMBERS<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Geelong Amateur\u2019s Darcy McFarlane (24 votes), Torquay\u2019s Rhian Moresi (21 votes), Ocean Grove\u2019s Emily Moroney (18 votes) and Geelong Amateur\u2019s Ruby Watson (18 votes) rounded out the count\u2019s top six.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gladman did not waste any time obtaining votes, with two best-on-court displays in Round 1 against Modewarre and against Torquay in Round 2.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She continued her stellar start to the campaign with two votes in Round 3 against Drysdale, and then a further two votes in Round 4 against Newcomb, taking her voting tally to 10 inside the first month of action.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_83049\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-83049\" style=\"width: 620px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-83049 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2023\/09\/0G2A3308-scaled.jpg?_t=1693981434\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"413\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-83049\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Geelong Amateur&#8217;s Darcy McFarlane finished third in the count.
