This year, it was sort of the same, or I thought it was just a past winner\u2019s invite,\u201d Gladman said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal elementToProof\">\u201cBut yeah, I\u2019m super-stoked, and super-surprised.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal elementToProof\">Gladman&#8217;s 35 votes secured her second A Grade best and fairest and third best and fairest in three seasons, following her Under 19s win in 2021.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The Coutas captain finished seven votes ahead of Newcomb defender Jessica Duke, while Geelong Amateur\u2019s Darcy McFarlane (24 votes), Torquay\u2019s Rhian Moresi (21 votes), Ocean Grove\u2019s Emily Moroney (18 votes) and Geelong Amateur\u2019s Ruby Watson (18 votes) were the next closest to the top of the leaderboard.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_75869\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-75869\" style=\"width: 540px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-75869 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/09\/061A9585-1-scaled.jpg?_t=1694074457\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"360\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-75869\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">This year&#8217;s Bellarine Netball League Team of the Season.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Gladman credited a large portion of her success to head coach Katrina Daws, who took over the A Grade reins in 2022.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal elementToProof\">Daws and her side finished 2022 in eighth position with four wins from 18 games, spurring the side to make several changes ahead of this year&#8217;s season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal elementToProof\">Queenscliff had much more success in 2023, notching up 13 wins during the home-and-way season and competing in a Preliminary Final against Ocean Grove.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_75871\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-75871\" style=\"width: 530px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-75871 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/09\/0G2A4788-scaled.jpg?_t=1694074590\" alt=\"\" width=\"530\" height=\"354\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-75871\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Gladman polled 35 votes in Wednesday&#8217;s count. Photo: MICHAEL CHAMBERS<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">\u201cWe had Charli Nicol stay on from the side last year, bringing with her Fionnuala McKeagney-Stubbs, who she plays with at City West Falcons,\u201d Gladman said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal elementToProof\">\u201cWe brought on two girls from St Mary\u2019s Keely Kinsey and Tess Campigli.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal elementToProof\">&#8220;Tess, who I shoot with, was just incredible and I would not have got anywhere close to being best and fairest without her. She\u2019s a dream to work with and just an awesome girl.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal elementToProof\">\u201cThen we\u2019ve also had some girls come up through juniors this season, namely Amelia Bakker; she\u2019s smashed it this year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_75873\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-75873\" style=\"width: 563px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-75873 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/09\/061A9622-2-scaled.jpg?_t=1694074841\" alt=\"\" width=\"563\" height=\"375\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-75873\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Gladman alongside Newcomb defender and count runner-up Jess Duke.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal elementToProof\">Gladman had nothing but good things to say about the Coutas community and has called the borough home since her earliest days in netball.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal elementToProof\">\u201cQueenscliff is just a massive family, I\u2019ve grown up there with mum, dad, both my grandparents both playing at the Coutas,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">\u201cAli Waight has been awesome as well, she\u2019s stepped up this year as president and just nailed it, she has really focused on bringing everyone together in football and netball and becoming a united club.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">\u201cThis was evident at our netball finals, we only had one netball team playing per day, and the amount of people rocking up for games was just insane.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_75876\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-75876\" style=\"width: 406px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-75876 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/09\/Screenshot-2023-09-07-at-6.25.44-pm.png?_t=1694075231\" alt=\"\" width=\"406\" height=\"611\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-75876\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Gladman was adjudged best-on-court eight times in 2023.
