SCLA has run its first two seasons of competition out of Torquay College since its inception late-last year, but fellow co-president Cassie Capuano said Polwarth Oval was the ideal location to move athletics to.<\/p>\n
“It’s amazing to have the space, and everyone was looking to what was next after the first two seasons,” Ms Capuano said.<\/p>\n
“So to have this area means we can engage with far more families and kids, and we’ve got great exposure here with all the other clubs here and the highway nearby, meaning everyone will see us now.<\/p>\n
“We wanted to be part of the sporting precinct and the Surf Coast Shire, I think it’s important for all the youth groups to be in the one spot so all the kids can have access to a variety of spots.”<\/p>\n
SCLA will also be responsible for the construction of a new sandpit, which was installed next to the oval earlier this week by Geelong Earthworks, providing a place for athletes to participate in long jump and triple jump events.<\/p>\n
Ms Osborn said a newly elected committee has been appointed and says it hopes to match the 133 membership registrations it had at the conclusion of Season Two.<\/p>\n
