LOCAL art lovers are encouraged to cast their vote for their favourite piece in the 2024 Surf Coast Shire Community Calendar Exhibition.<\/p>\n
The exhibition, which is launching this evening at the Anglesea Art Space at 6pm, showcases more than 50 local artist entries across four categories including Child, Youth, 2D and 3D.<\/p>\n
The 12 calendar month winners will be selected by judges at the launch, and a people’s choice vote will then determine the front cover of the calendar.<\/p>\n
Locals can either vote in-person at the Anglesea Art Space during the exhibition or online, with a front cover winner being crowned on November 1.<\/p>\n
Surf Coast Shire Mayor Liz Pattison said the annual competition helps to pave the way for creatives of all pursuits to chase their artistic dreams.<\/p>\n
“This year’s competition welcomed a refreshed focus, encouraging artists of all ages to showcase their creativity and what inspires them.<\/p>\n
“It’s always a thrill to see the diverse range of pieces.”<\/p>\n
The Community Calendar exhibition will be open daily at the Anglesea Art Space from Saturday, October 14 to Saturday, October 28 between 10am and 4pm.<\/p>\n
“Participating artists will sit the exhibition on weekends, offering visitors an opportunity to chat to the creators of the work and gain insights,” Mayor Pattison added.<\/p>\n
“It’s also a great opportunity to take in Anglesea Art Space, which is available for local artists and groups to hold their own exhibitions.”<\/p>\n
Anglesea Art Space is located Shop 2\/103 Great Ocean Road, Anglesea.<\/p>\n
