WORKS to consolidate conversation areas and create safer and more accessible spaces are on the way for Taylor Park, following the release of the project’s What We Heard Report.<\/p>\n

Community feedback has provided the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority (the Authority) with ideas about how the community currently use Taylor Park and how it can be managed and maintained into the future.<\/p>\n

It has been suggested Taylor Park should be largely left the way it is, however, efforts need to made to improve its conversation value, park lighting and revegetation on its informal paths.<\/p>\n

Taylor Park in Torquay is a cherished place for locals and visitors alike and holds very important conversational value for its unique blend of flora and fauna.<\/p>\n

The What We Heard report had 53 online survey responses, four email submissions and 164 visits to the Have Your Say page.<\/p>\n

The Authority also contacted 11 local stakeholders to share knowledge about the conversation values of Taylor Park and future plans to revegetate its informal paths.<\/p>\n

Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority coastal reserves manager, Caleb Hurrell said the Authority will be working with local groups, including the Friends of Taylor Park group to improve the area.<\/p>\n

“Taylor Park is a cherished place where both locals and visitors come to connect, rejuvenate, and experience nature in all its glory.<\/p>\n

“As a result of community feedback, we’re taking steps to consolidate conservation areas, making the park safer and more accessible for all.<\/p>\n

“A heartfelt thank you to locals, visitors and community groups for their inspiring feedback and hands on efforts to tidy up and enhance the conservation values within the park.”<\/p>\n

“We’re committed to preserving the enduring charm of Taylor Park, keeping community needs and aspirations front and centre.”<\/p>\n
