LOCAL traders and community members who use the Cliff Street car park are advised to seek alternative car parking while safety improvements are carried out at the site.<\/p>\n

From November 13, the Surf Coast Shire Council is replacing five light poles in the two-hour CBD car park to improve amenity and safety.<\/p>\n

Works will proceed in two different stages.<\/p>\n

The first stage will take about two weeks and close half of the car park at a time.<\/p>\n

It will consist of the existing poles being removed and footings being prepared for new poles.<\/p>\n

The second stage, which will take place between December 13 and 15 will involve the installation of the new light poles.<\/p>\n

The whole car park is expected to be closed for one day whole day between 6am and 3pm for this stage of construction.<\/p>\n

While the works are taking place, impacted traders and car park users are encouraged to use parks along Zeally Bay Road beside Taylors Park and in nearby Walker Street.<\/p>\n
