THE City of Greater Geelong lit up its in recognition of World Autism Awareness Day.
\nOrganised by The Treehouse Geelong, families for autism families, the event on Saturday night attracted 80 people from across Geelong and the Bellarine who dined at La Porchetta Geelong before heading down to the corner of Moorabool and Malop streets to view the lights.
\nFacilitator Lisa Hamling said the night produced an amazing atmosphere and that yearly event.
\n\u201cTo see all the families and siblings gather and I,\u201d Mrs Hamling said.
\n\u201cWe understand the extreme loneliness, frustration, isolation that families can experience when living with autism.
\n\u201cThe Treehouse was established by parents shines light need for a local whole family friendship and Mr Hamling said the messages from people about the night had been amazing, saying what a success it was and what an amazing community feeling for these families.
\nDuring the night, Treehouse Ambassador Chloe Hayden dressed up as a princess and Mitch from Unstrung Productions did puppetry.
\nHowever, The Treehouse is currently homeless after a room they had been using The Treehouse Geelong now need a space for the 10 groups it facilitates.
