TORQUAY Library is gearing up for its much-anticipated annual family fun day on Saturday 9 December, from 10am to 2.30pm.<\/p>\n

The festivities kick off with an all-day local artists’ market, offering a treasure trove of Chrissy presents.<\/p>\n

Families can dive into the day’s activities, from face painting starting at 10 am, to the enchanting Storytime at 10:15 am.<\/p>\n

Geelong Regional Library Corporation board chair Cr Liz Pattison said the Torquay Library Summer Fun Day reflects the vibrant community spirit in Torquay.<\/p>\n

“This collaborative event has gained momentum since 2022 and provides a unique and fun experience for the Surf Coast community,” Cr Pattison said.<\/p>\n

“Our libraries play a pivotal role in bringing communities together \u2013 a friendly space for people to connect, create, learn, and have fun. Libraries are safe, warm in the winter and cool in the summer, inclusive and free \u2013 vital for everyone, especially with the impact of cost of living.”<\/p>\n

“This event is a great example of how our libraries have become multifaceted community spaces,” Cr Pattison said.<\/p>\n

Culinary delights await at 11 am with Perla Taco’s Mexican street food, tantalizing taste buds and adding a flavourful twist to the celebration.<\/p>\n

For green thumbs and nature lovers, the Surf Coast Celebration of Sunflower and the Seed Library invites participants to plant their own sunflower seed, fostering a sense of community growth.<\/p>\n

At 1 pm, the event reaches its literary pinnacle with a meet-and-greet featuring local author Favel Parrett \u2014 bookings are required, for this session.<\/p>\n

Throughout the day, library members can enjoy discounted entry to the Australian National Surf Museum, and new members receive a complimentary library bag, showcasing the library’s commitment to evolving and enriching the community experience.<\/p>\n
