THIS year\u2019s Geelong Community Foundation grants program has funded 46 projects and programs valued at $932,500.<\/p>\n
The Geelong Community Foundation exists to make a lasting difference to people in the Geelong region. The Foundation aims to benefit the most disadvantaged in our region, helping to create a stronger, more resilient community.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s grants cover a range of community needs and interests including community wellbeing, youth, education, training, health, support for the aged, homelessness, poverty, family services and the arts.<\/p>\n
Some of the organisations to benefit include Community Veracity, Samaritan House, Bluebird Foundation, Kids Plus Foundation, Geelong Food Relief Centre, Back to Back Theatre, Barwon Child Youth & Family, Cottage by the Sea and The Song Room.<\/p>\n
Foundation chair John Miles said that the role of the foundation was to fund projects and programs that will make a lasting difference in the Geelong region.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are delighted with the results of this funding round, providing the community with a 16 per cent increase in funding on that which was offered in 2017 and over $7.7 million since inception of the foundation 18 years ago.<\/p>\n
