THE Surf Coast Shire\u2019s Events Grant and Sponsorship Program returns this month in a revamped capacity.<\/p>\n

For the first time, past applicants will no longer need to observe the three-year waiting period and can apply for a new grant on a yearly basis.<\/p>\n

Other changes include a pass\/fail outcome for all applications under a Disability Access and Inclusion criteria, Community Events Grants to released in April and October to allow a shorter lead-in time from application to event, and increased funding for Christmas Carols.<\/p>\n

Any not-for-profit and commercial event organisers holding an event in the Surf Coast Shire under tourism, boutique creative, community events and sponsored event categories are welcome to apply.<\/p>\n

Cr Libby Stapleton said helping the environment to thrive was what the program was all about.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe best thing about our events calendar is the diversity, from bespoke community gatherings to larger scale events set against the stunning backdrop of the Surf Coast.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know funding assistance is welcome, and as a Council love supporting an assortment of activities that bring significant economic and social benefits.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast year\u2019s program reflected and celebrated the natural beauty of the Surf Coast Shire, the strong community bonds, and healthy lifestyles.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom car shows, trail runs, and cycling events, to markets and festivals, I look forward to seeing the diversity of applications in the upcoming round.\u201d<\/p>\n
