MORE than 200 people danced the night away and raised more than $6,000 for cancer research at the Lighthouse Classic Bands Night at the Leadbeater Hotel in Melbourne.<\/p>\n

The event directly supported research at the Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute (FECRI) and was an extension of the Lighthouse Classic walk championed by the late Janet Jones and her family.<\/p>\n

More than 10 musicians played during the event, including Melbourne outfit Franjapan, The Heart Shaped Aces and Janet’s son Harry who spun some tunes on the DJ decks during the evening.<\/p>\n

Franjapan was also on the event bill.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

 <\/p>\n

Event co-organiser Harry Jones said it was a fantastic evening of celebrations.<\/p>\n

“It was a super fun night and such a great turnout from the local community,” he said.<\/p>\n

“This was the second time we’ve hosted the bands night, and it was certainly the most successful of the two.<\/p>\n

“Everyone had a great boogie and really embraced the cause.<\/p>\n

“We look forward to bringing it back again in 2025.”<\/p>\n

The Lighthouse Classic has now donated more than $150,000 to cancer research since its inception.<\/p>\n
