THE second 50 Year Storm Invitational was officially launched at Bells Beach on Saturday. The big wave event, staged in memory of Shaun Brooks and to raise awareness of and money for mental health, held a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony \u2013 Anthony Hume is seen below painting the face of Troy Brooks \u2013 and induction of the invitees on the sand to mark the first day of the waiting period, which will be open until August 31. A field of 30 surfers (most pictured above) has been selected to take part in the event, which will only run if conditions are perfect.<\/p>\n
