EARLIER this month, Asbury residents and their families and friends gathered at a community event to celebrate the official opening of the Armstrong Creek estate’s newest park, the Ashbury Boulevard Reserve.<\/p>\n

The underwater-themed event featured plenty of activities from the Come and Sea marquee with its popular silent disco and the chance to meet a mermaid and pose for a photo with her, to roving entertainment around the Reserve including jellyfish, sea horses, the Bubble Pirates and even a Sea Creature on Stilts.<\/p>\n

The park’s opening had an underwater theme.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

 <\/p>\n

Attendees could also try their hand at sea-themed crafts including sand art and seashell painting, or have their faces painted with underwater inspired designs.<\/p>\n

The Chill Out Zone provided the perfect place for anyone keen to indulge in a little time out, grab some pizza, sausages, ice-cream and snowcones and relax on deck chair under an umbrella, while more competitive eventgoers took the opportunity to challenge friends and neighbours in a round or two of lawn games.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
