{"id":129202,"date":"2024-03-06T04:57:06","date_gmt":"2024-03-05T17:57:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=129202"},"modified":"2024-02-29T12:00:38","modified_gmt":"2024-02-29T01:00:38","slug":"applications-open-for-tce-grants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/applications-open-for-tce-grants\/","title":{"rendered":"Applications open for TCE grants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TORQUAY Community Enterprise (TCE) is opening applications today (Friday, March 1) for its 2024 Grants Program.<\/p>\n<p>The enterprise gets its funding from the local community, and returns it to worthy causes that are helping to improve the quality of life of thousands of local residents.<\/p>\n<p>The money stays in the area and contributes to local economic development.<\/p>\n<p>You can support the enterprise, at no cost to yourself, by banking with the Bendigo Bank and asking your Bendigo Bank staff to associate your account with TCE.<\/p>\n<p>Eligible groups for a grant include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Charitable and not-for-profit organisations with an ABN<\/li>\n<li>Projects targeting Torquay, Jan Juc, Bellbrae, Connewarre or Freshwater Creek areas<\/li>\n<li>Projects and activities that offer clear public benefit to the communitt, building social capital and supporting community welfare, and<\/li>\n<li>Groups that did not receive a grant the year before (no recurrent requests).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There is a $2,000 cap on project grants, inclusive of GST).<\/p>\n<p>Preference will be given to projects that support:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Access and equity for all abilities<\/li>\n<li>Community capacity building projects<\/li>\n<li>Cultural and arts initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Environmental conservation and awareness<\/li>\n<li>Families, children and youth initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Community health and wellbeing<\/li>\n<li>Schools and early education<\/li>\n<li>Sport and recreation initiatives, and<\/li>\n<li>Preservation of regional history<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications close at midnight on March 31.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, head to <a href=\"http:\/\/torquaycommunityenterprise.org.au\/grants-program\">torquaycommunityenterprise.org.au\/grants-program<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In other TCE news, Rose Hodge recently finished 10 years service with the TCE, and the board is now seeking applications to fill board roles.<\/p>\n<p>Board Chair Andrew Crowley said TCE already had a great board but it was timely to recruit.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is so important boards are representative of the community so we are very interested in having new members that provide diversity of backgrounds<\/p>\n<p>and skills.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Torquay is growing and we need to have a board that representative of our community.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>For more information, head to <a href=\"http:\/\/torquaycommunityenterprise.org.au\/contact-us\">torquaycommunityenterprise.org.au\/contact-us<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TORQUAY Community Enterprise (TCE) is opening applications today (Friday, March 1) for its 2024 Grants Program.
