BARWON Water has started refurbishments on a water storage tank near Teddy’s Lookout in Lorne, promising enhanced resilience for the area’s water supply.<\/p>\n

Managing director Shaun Cumming announced the overhaul, following the recent addition of a new 500,000L tank at the site.<\/p>\n

“Having the new tank on site gives us a great opportunity to refurbish the other tank at Teddy’s Lookout, ensuring its resilienceinto the future,”\u00a0Mr Cumming said.<\/p>\n

“Draining and isolating this 218,000L tank for the refurbishment means we can do a complete roof restoration, undertake some other minor repairs and recoat the tank internally and externally.”<\/p>\n

The refurbishment will include a full roof restoration, minor repairs, and a fresh internal and external coating for the 218,000-litre tank.<\/p>\n

Mr Cumming assured residents that water supply and pressure would remain unaffected during the works, though some local noise and dust are expected.<\/p>\n

“Access to Teddy’s Lookout will be maintained as the works will be contained on Barwon Water property,” he said.<\/p>\n

“We thank the community for their patience while these essential works are undertaken.”<\/p>\n

The project begins this week with tank draining, followed by cleaning and restoration from March 12, and is slated for completion in seven weeks.<\/p>\n
