THE Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority has initiated a Community Values Survey to guide the revision of the masterplan for the $12.59 million redevelopment of Point Grey in\u00a0Lorne.<\/p>\n

Following a Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) determination in 2022, which rejected a 160-person restaurant at the site, a revised Precinct Masterplan is now required.<\/p>\n

Feedback collected will help craft the updated draft Masterplan, with an eye towards sustainability, safety, and compliance with legal standards.<\/p>\n

Authority chief executive officer Jodie Sizer highlighted the significance of community input.<\/p>\n

“The Point Grey Redevelopment is one of our highest priorities, fuelled by a profound understanding of the significant local interest propelling this project forward,” Ms Sizer said.<\/p>\n

“With momentum building, I encourage the community to seize this opportunity to enrich the feedback already gathered, reaffirming the essential elements required for the project’s success.<\/p>\n

“As we stand on the cusp of a new chapter, I’d like to say thank you to all who have contributed to the journey so far and look forward with\u00a0great excitement as the project progresses.”<\/p>\n

In February, the authority appointed NMBW Architecture Studio as the principal design consultant, with plans for new Lorne Aquatic & Angling Club facilities, improved walking paths, and casual hospitality options detailed on the project’s website.<\/p>\n

The final draft masterplan is expected in mid-2024.<\/p>\n

The survey will run until April 5, and is available on the authority’s Have Your Say website at haveyoursay.greatoceanroadauthority.vic.gov.au<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
