Surf Coast local Sandi Allen initiated a debate when she posted a picture of the sign to the Surf Coast Community Noticeboard, igniting discussion among residents about its clarity.<\/p>\n
“So, am I the only one who doesn’t understand this sign?” Ms Allen asked.<\/p>\n
The post now has more than 170 comments.<\/p>\n
While some find the instructions straightforward, others were left puzzled by the overlapping restrictions.<\/p>\n
Supporters of the sign argue that the top half of the sign should not be taken at face value, and it is the timeshare rules below that matter.<\/p>\n
Conversely, those confused by the signage contend that adhering to the bottom half would mean violating the directive stated in the top half.<\/p>\n
“It’s as clear as mud,” one community member commented, while another argued “It’s not that hard, just follow the times listed”.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority said the old, faded dog signs on the beaches had been replaced by new ones in collaboration with the Surf Coast Shire.<\/p>\n
“Over peak visitor periods including summer and the Easter long weekend, timeshare restrictions operate on some popular beaches that are often crowded during the day.<\/p>\n
