THE managing authority of the Port of Lorne is encouraging locals and visitors to provide feedback on the town’s pier, with the safety and accessibility of the landmark, a key focus.<\/p>\n

The Lorne Pier forms a distinctive part of the Lorne coastline and is a popular location for walking, sightseeing and fishing year-round.<\/p>\n

As such, the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority is seeking to understand how the pier is being used, and how satisfied the community is with both the pier and the way it is managed.<\/p>\n

Pier users and those with an interest in the pier, are also invited to offer suggestions on how the Lorne Pier can be improved.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“Local feedback from regular users is incredibly valuable as we continue to manage and maintain the Lorne Pier,” an authority spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

“Through this survey, we invite locals and visitors alike to have a say to ensure the continued enjoyment of the Lorne Pier for all.”<\/p>\n

Feedback on the pier can be provided via an online survey until April 14.<\/p>\n

Several other projects are also in progress across the Point Grey area, including the $12.59 million redevelopment of the precinct.<\/p>\n

To be delivered as part of the $500 million Geelong City Deal, the redevelopment will feature new Lorne Aquatic & Angling Club facilities, hospitality offerings and upgraded walking paths.<\/p>\n

The authority is similarly undertaking a community values survey to inform the design of the precinct, which will close tomorrow (Friday, April 5).<\/p>\n
