Following on the heels of Portarlington\u2019s National Celtic Festival comes a brand-new show titled Fun With The Celts – From Irish Toasts to Welsh Myths.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The show is part of the City of Greater Geelong\u2019s Morning Showtime at the Potato Shed series.<\/p>\n

Produced by Drop Of A Hat Geelong, the show features beautiful music and laughter, from some lesser-publicised Celtic nations \u2013 think Cornwall, Wales and the Isle of Man \u2013 as well as the more familiar Scottish and Irish components.<\/p>\n

Hosted by Colin Mockett, the show\u2019s all-Geelong cast features Shirley Power and Geoff Sinnbeck from the Drop Of A Hat band, along with Marie Goldsworthy singing Gaelic and Cornish lullabies.<\/p>\n

And a really unusual guest, the Chieftain of all the Scottish clans in Geelong, Dr Maurice Marshall.<\/p>\n

Chieftain Maurice, in his full regalia, will recite poems from Scottish poets including Robbie Burns\u2019 \u201cTo A Haggis\u201d, which will have a live translation into Australian by Colin Mockett.<\/p>\n

The show is in Drop of a Hat\u2019s Showtime tradition, using dialogue, song and humour backed by projected images.<\/p>\n

And, yes, the show will debunk some myths that have grown spread about Celts over the years.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s all part of the series\u2019 fun and fine music tradition.<\/p>\n

Fun With The Celts – From Irish Toasts to Welsh Myths is at The Potato Shed, Peninsula Drive, Drysdale, on Tuesday June 19 at 10.30am.<\/p>\n
