ARTISTS and creators are eager to welcome Anglesea’s largest art exhibition back for a 38th year.<\/p>\n

Anglesea Art House’s 38th annual art exhibit returns this King’s Birthday long weekend and thousands of residents and visitors are expected to attend the three-day event, according to the host gallery’s president.<\/p>\n

“It’s a very big event within the art community down here,” Jennifer O’Sullivan said.<\/p>\n

“It’s definitely the biggest art event in Anglesea, perhaps even the Surf Coast.<\/p>\n

“Every year the buzz grows significantly leading up to the event, and the local talent we have here look forward to it every year.”<\/p>\n

The annual art show, which will run from Saturday, June 8 to Monday, June 10, will feature an array of art forms across a range of mediums including paintings, printmaking, ceramics, glass and textiles.<\/p>\n

Works will be on display at both the Anglesea Art House at 23 Cameron Road and the Anglesea Memorial Hall.<\/p>\n

Awards will also be up for grabs, including the Jan Dick Best-in-Show Award and Peoples’ Choice Award with every piece of art part of the exhibition up for sale.<\/p>\n

All funds raised from entry costs will go back into the daily operations of the Anglesea Art House.<\/p>\n

“We do two major fundraisers for our members, and this annual show over the long weekend is one of them.<\/p>\n

“This event has always provided our members with a chance to show off some of their talent, and what once was quite a small event has grown into a large one over the years.<\/p>\n

“We still have a couple weeks to go until the event’s opening night on Friday, June 7, but we already have over 300 entries secured for this year.”<\/p>\n

The exhibition will also feature live demonstrations from artists, allowing perusers to view how some of the works are made.<\/p>\n

It will run from 10am to 4pm across Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 1pm on Monday, and the After Hours exhibition will be held on Saturday from 5am to 8pm for the first time.<\/p>\n
