AUSTRALIA\u2019S leading home builder, Metricon, has renewed their Geelong Umpires support for another four years.<\/p>\n
The partnership between Metricon and Geelong Umpires commenced in 2006, has been continuous since then, and is now locked in until 2022.<\/p>\n
The deal will see the Metricon branding continue to feature on all off and on-field uniforms for another four years.<\/p>\n
Metricon\u2019s General Manager of Regional Housing, Phil Barrett, said that the Geelong football community is very important to Metricon, and if there were no umpires there wouldn\u2019t be any footy.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur umpires have to make many calls on what they see under pressure every weekend,\u201d Mr Barrett said.<\/p>\n
\u201cDuring an average game, these athletes have to adjudicate as many as 3,000 separate transactions.<\/p>\n
\u201cMetricon is very proud to support this crucial part of the sport.\u201d<\/p>\n
Geelong Umpires chairman Bradley Smith said that they\u2019re really pleased to be associated with a partner like Metricon, who continues to make a valuable contribution to the umpiring program, as well as the broader footy community.<\/p>\n
\u201cMetricon has become synonymous with Geelong Umpires due to the longevity of our relationship and due to the fact that every weekend during the football season every match that has an official umpire appointed to it, has that familiar logo on the back of every umpire,\u201d Mr Smith said.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, whether it is the players, the parents watching their kids in under age competitions or the crowds at senior football, all are benefiting from Metricon\u2019s support.\u201d<\/p>\n
Metricon\u2019s presence in the Geelong\/Barwon football community has grown over the years through their offer of a rebate directly to any member of any of the 34 football clubs in the Geelong\/Barwon region who build with Metricon, as well as a bonus for the club the person is a member of.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith this offer they are not only sponsoring Geelong Umpires directly, they are also sponsoring all of the clubs indirectly,\u201d Mr Smith added.<\/p>\n
Metricon celebrated the construction of over 7,000 new homes in regional Victoria last month.<\/p>\n
After moving into the Geelong region over 14 years ago, they now employ more than 80 people in the region alone, as well as an excess of over 250 local trades.<\/p>\n
Mr Barrett said that their regional teams are comprised of local staff, site managers, service and warranty and trades, meaning that they too are part of the community where so many people are deciding to build beautiful new homes and they\u2019re all committed to producing high quality homes.<\/p>\n
