Socialight, a local, family-owned and operated business, opened its doors in September 2023 in Torquay’s West Coast Business Park.<\/p>\n
Jake Hickey, the visionary behind Socialight, recognised the region’s need for a premium lighting store after spending over a decade as an electrician working within the Geelong and Surf Coast area.<\/p>\n
He saw how impractical it was to direct his clients to Melbourne, or online, when searching for lights. After studying Lighting & Engineering Design at RMIT, Jake knew it was time to bring this long-nurtured business concept to life.<\/p>\n

A warehouse with high ceilings and nestled amidst the vibrant retail area of Haystacks Drive, made Torquay’s West Coast Business Park an easy choice for Socialight’s first showroom.<\/p>\n

Jake’s vision for the showroom was to create a space of beauty and refinement, a goal unequivocally achieved.<\/p>\n
