GIVE Where You Live Foundation and Kids+ will share in a record-breaking $290,010 raised during the 2024 Surf Coast Trek.<\/p>\n
More than 1,000 people took part in the active fundraising challenge in April by walking the 26km or 40km course along the Surf Coast.<\/p>\n
The event also featured a Welcome to Country, local music, activities and food stalls to support the two charity organisations.<\/p>\n
GWYLF chief executive officer Bill Mithen said the funds will help create a fairer, more equitable community.<\/p>\n
“Due to the increased cost of living, we’re seeing more and more individuals and families facing unemployment, homelessness, and struggling to put food on the table.<\/p>\n
“The amazing efforts of all of our 2024 Surf Coast Trekkers will help those most in need in our community. ”<\/p>\n
Kids+ marketing manager Sharon Gibbons was thrilled more support was on the way for babies, children and young adults with disability.<\/p>\n
