GREAT Ocean Road Brewing is set to expand its presence on the Surf Coast by taking over the former Sou’West Brewery in Torquay.<\/p>\n
After nearly three years since its launch in South Geelong, the brewery is moving its flagship store to the Baines Crescent site.<\/p>\n
The Shortal and Ranger families, who own Great Ocean Road Brewing, have been looking for the right location to create a destination venue.<\/p>\n
Matt Shortal said the new owners were excited to make their mark on the architecturally-designed space.<\/p>\n
“When the opportunity arose to increase our brewing capacity with a state-of-the-art brewing kit, combined with the extensive fitout of the venue attached, it was an opportunity too good to refuse.”<\/p>\n
Torquay local and co-owner Renae Ranger said the new location was ideal.<\/p>\n
“Our brewery will be more than just a place to enjoy exceptional craft beer.<\/p>\n
“It will be a gathering spot where community can connect and welcome visitors from near and far.”<\/p>\n
The Torquay venue will open in the coming months.<\/p>\n
