Returning to the coast has always been high on the agenda for Doctor of Chinese medicine Shura Ford.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Having had the pleasure of a childhood further down the Great Ocean Road in Apollo Bay, it was an experience she wanted her young children to also enjoy.<\/p>\n

The time to take the big plunge came in 2015, which involved scaling down the multi-modality Ford Wellness Group clinic she had built in Essendon.<\/p>\n

After moving to Torquay, Shura began consulting at Newtown Natural Fertility and continues to provide acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine support to women (and men) there three days a week.<\/p>\n

This year has seen Shura adding two extra consulting days in Torquay and she welcomes new clients to experience the benefits of Traditional Chinese medicine.<\/p>\n

Shura has a special interest in stress management, pain and musculoskeletal injuries and supporting women\u2019s health through preconception, pregnancy and post-partum.<\/p>\n

Shura has been practicing as a Doctor of Chinese Medicine for 18 years.<\/p>\n

She graduated with a Bachelor of Health Sciences in traditional Chinese medicine with Honours in 2000.<\/p>\n

In the same year, she completed an internship at a hospital in China, administering acupuncture in various outpatient departments.<\/p>\n

In 2006, she completed post graduate Chinese herbal medicine study at the Southern School of Natural Therapies in Melbourne.<\/p>\n

Shura is also a health writer and loves to talk and write about Chinese medicine principles, practice and philosophy.<\/p>\n

She has had a regular column in Nature and Health magazine for four years and is often called upon as a Chinese medicine contributor by online and print publications with contributions including SBS life, Ninemsn, Good Health magazine, Wellbeing magazine, Men\u2019s Muscle and Fitness magazine, Body and Soul magazine and Nourish magazine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
