A FAMILIAR face is back as Angair president after three years away from the position to finish out the third and final year of her term.<\/p>\n
Outgoing Angair president Sally White said former president Wendy Crebbin had returned to her post after an early departure from her previous tenure in 2020.<\/p>\n
Ms Crebbin said she was excited to be appointed back as president to finish out her third year, the limit under\u00a0Angair’s constitution.<\/p>\n
She thanked Ms White for the three years she served as vice president.<\/p>\n
“My original stint as president lasted two years before I had to step away because of a tumour on the brain,” Ms Crebbin said.<\/p>\n
“So then the idea came up that I return to the president role this year and finish out my term before a new president is decided at some stage in 2025.<\/p>\n
“I’ve always enjoyed the ecosystems in and around Anglesea and Angair has always done a great job of advocating and caring for the national parks here and continuing to educate residents\u00a0and visitors.”<\/p>\n
Ms Crebbin has been a part of Angair since moving to Anglesea 10 years ago, and characterised herself as a president proficient in delegating and<\/p>\n
co-ordinating roles.<\/p>\n
Liz Fenwick has also been appointed as vice president to assist Ms Crebbin on the committee.<\/p>\n
Ms Crebbin said she and the rest of the committee were hard at work to ensure a successful back half of 2024, particularly for Angair’s largest event of the year, the Angair Wildflower & Arts Show.<\/p>\n
“I’ll continue to communicate with local organisations to continue productive partnerships.<\/p>\n
“It’s through this coordinating that we can ensure the best chance of success at our events and continue to make a real difference in the Anglesea area.<\/p>\n
Most recently, Angair announced it was welcoming the Friends of Point Addis community group to its fold last week, after 22 years of independent revegetation projects, weed control, and regular rubbish clean-ups.<\/p>\n
Angair’s next annual general meeting will be next held in February 2025.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
