{"id":142500,"date":"2024-08-18T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-08-17T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=142500"},"modified":"2024-08-18T12:50:51","modified_gmt":"2024-08-18T02:50:51","slug":"active-living-boost-in-lorne","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/active-living-boost-in-lorne\/","title":{"rendered":"Active living boost in Lorne"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LORNE P-12 College is helping to promote active living by installing exercise equipment at the front of its school grounds.<\/p>\n<p>The gym equipment was opened last month and is available for students and the Lorne public to use out of school hours.<\/p>\n<p>It features an elliptic trainer, leg press, chin-up bars, rowing machine, abdominal bench and a dip bar, among others.<\/p>\n<p>Lorne P-12 College vice-principal Michael Stone said the installations had already been very popular.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/08\/IMG_0465_10378.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Teacher Vanessa Rogash taking students Acacia and Murphy through some exercises.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s been really successful so far and the feedback has been terrific from our student body, teachers and the wider public,&#8221; Mr Stone said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As a school, we recognised a need for lunchtime and recess activities, particularly for our senior members of the school. This gym equipment completely delivers it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s a mixture of machines there to cater for all ages.
