{"id":144675,"date":"2024-09-03T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-09-02T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=144675"},"modified":"2024-08-28T22:47:18","modified_gmt":"2024-08-28T12:47:18","slug":"new-operator-sought-for-popular-beachside-kiosk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/new-operator-sought-for-popular-beachside-kiosk\/","title":{"rendered":"New operator sought for popular beachside kiosk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AN OPPORTUNITY for locals hospitality vendors has opened with the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority running an expressions of interest process to operate the kiosk at 104 Melba Parade, Point Roadknight.<\/p>\n<p>Potential applicants have a chance to operate the kiosk year round, but must be open during peak visitor periods, including Boxing Day to the end of January, Easter and the Melbourne Cup long weekend to cater to the influx of visitors during warmer weather.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re looking for an operator who can cater to the local regulars and the influx of visiting beachgoers to the popular Point Roadknight area,&#8221; authority director of community, corporate affairs and visitor economy Andy Mathers said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;From coffee for the early walkers and cyclists, to hot chips or ice cream for those relaxing by the beach, there&#8217;s a variety of ways to connect with and serve the community.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The authority stated the successful applicant would be granted a lease to operate from the kiosk&#8217;s location for up to five years.<\/p>\n<p>All revenue raised through the authority&#8217;s commercial activities is reinvested back into the coast and parks to facilitate projects designated around the Great Ocean Road.<\/p>\n<p>Potential kiosk operators should note opening times are restricted to daylight hours, taking place between 6am and 9pm during the summer daylight savings period, and 7am to 6pm during winter.<\/p>\n<p>Applications can be made until 5pm on September 20.<\/p>\n<p>Interested operators must attend an onsite briefing being held at the site on Thursday, September 5 at 5.30pm.
