JAN Juc Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) will have stability at the top in 2024-25 with most board members recommitting for the coming season.<\/p>\n

The office bearers for season 2024-25 were resolved at the club’s annual general meeting last week.<\/p>\n

Brett Thompson will continue in his role as club president for a third year running.<\/p>\n

Pete Smith (vice president), Geoff Thompstone (secretary), Grace Lightfoot (lifesaving services manager), Tim Watson (competition manager), Kate Walsh (juniors manager) and Jodie Reyntjes (fundraising and sponsorship manager) all retain their roles.<\/p>\n

The treasurer role is vacant, with Melissa Field stepping down from her position after seven years.<\/p>\n

Mr Thompson said he was excited for the year ahead.<\/p>\n

“We are a pretty stable club, it’s like the football mentality of keeping everything at the top pretty stable, then everything seems to work pretty well underneath.<\/p>\n

“This will be third year in my role, it’s a pretty relentless job, but it still is really rewarding.<\/p>\n

“Volunteer roles are hard, particularly in this day and age, everyone on the committee gives up a lot of their time, and I am very thankful for their support.”<\/p>\n

Jan Juc SLSC continue to go from strength to strength with success both on and off the beach.<\/p>\n

The club was among the top clubs represented at the Life Saving Victoria Awards of Excellence in August.<\/p>\n

Tim Watson was revealed as LSV Coach of the Year, while Finn Dripps received the Beach Lifeguard of the Year honour.<\/p>\n

“Things are in really good shape at the moment and we just want to build on that on and off the beach,” Mr Thompson said.<\/p>\n

“Since the pandemic we have been building on what’s already there and improving.<\/p>\n

“Patrol wise we are building; competition wise we are building and socially we are building.”We hope to use our clubhouse for some more social occasions this season, including for meals.<\/p>\n

“It’s just a great club to be part of. We can’t wait for the season ahead.”<\/p>\n

Jan Juc SLSC voted to form a new constitution, where from next year, board members will be elected for a two-year term rather than 12 months.<\/p>\n

The club welcomes any submissions for the treasurer\/financial operations position for season 2024-25.<\/p>\n
