{"id":145026,"date":"2024-09-10T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-09-09T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=145026"},"modified":"2024-09-05T11:02:21","modified_gmt":"2024-09-05T01:02:21","slug":"nominations-open-for-wannon-sport-and-volunteer-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/nominations-open-for-wannon-sport-and-volunteer-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Nominations open for Wannon Sport and Volunteer Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WANNON federal member Dan Tehan is calling for nominations for the 2024 Wannon Sport and Volunteer Awards.<\/p>\n<p>The Sport Awards recognise and highlight exceptional sporting performances, achievements and contributions by community members across the electorate, while the Volunteer Awards recognise and celebrate individual and group volunteers whose selfless dedication, generosity of spirit and outstanding contributions have made a significant difference in the lives of others.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Recognising community sporting achievements and community volunteering is essential to fostering a culture of appreciation and continued involvement in both spheres, across Wannon,&#8221; Mr Tehan said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It&#8217;s important that we take the time to acknowledge people&#8217;s accomplishments in and contributions to our communities, as their efforts play a pivotal role in enabling rural communities to thrive.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Nominators for the Wannon Sports Awards are invited to nominate an individual or team in the following categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Primary School &#8211; Individual or Team Achievement<\/li>\n<li>Secondary School &#8211; Individual or Team Achievement<\/li>\n<li>Open &#8211; Individual or Team Achievement<\/li>\n<li>Member of Parliament Award.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Nominators for the Volunteer Awards are invited to nominate an individual or group in the following categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Youth Volunteer<\/li>\n<li>Emergency Management<\/li>\n<li>Group<\/li>\n<li>Inspiring individual<\/li>\n<li>Member of Parliament Award.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;These awards are a highlight of my calendar,&#8221; Mr Tehan said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They recognise both our high achievers and our unsung heroes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Nominations for either or both awards can be submitted at <a href=\"http:\/\/dantehan.com.au\">dantehan.com.au<\/a> before 5pm on September 22.<\/p>\n<p>The 2024 Wannon Sport and Volunteer Awards ceremony will be held in Ararat on October 25.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, phone 1300 131 692 or 5561 6405.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WANNON federal member Dan Tehan is calling for nominations for the 2024 Wannon Sport and Volunteer Awards.
