THE Port Fairy Folk Festival has added more star power to its 2025 musical extravaganza.<\/p>\n

Headlining the second artist announcement for the March 7-10 festival is Australian rock legend Peter Garrett and his band The Alter Egos.<\/p>\n

Garrett spent more than four decades at the forefront of rock and roll as the lead singer of Midnight Oil.<\/p>\n

Renowned for his charismatic style, the legendary musician and his band are sure to light up the stage.<\/p>\n

Indie-folk Londoner Bess Atwell will make her Australian debut in Port Fairy alongside Ireland’s 17-year-old country blues guitarist Muireann Bradley and fearless fiddler\u00a0Clare Sands.<\/p>\n

Cambridge Folk Festival stars Scottish stars Talisk will strum their instruments in Port Fairy, as will returning blues legend Ruthie Foster, and fellow US singer\/songwriters Jon Muq and Simon Joyner.<\/p>\n

India’s wholesome bluegrass duo Grassy Strings, Reunion’s Lindigo and Canadian folk singers Old Man Luedecke have also been added to\u00a0the lineup.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Program director Justin Rudge said the major event was shaping up to be a global gathering of music, art and culture covering many genres and styles,<\/p>\n

“We’re really getting into gear with our program for 2025, and I’m thrilled to announce this great mix of established and emerging artists from all corners of the world.<\/p>\n

“We are so fortunate to have so many artists gracing the stage in Port Fairy next March, with some favourites also returning.<\/p>\n

“So much great music for our audience to get excited about \u2013 and I’m excited too.”<\/p>\n

Other artists locked in to appear at Port Fairy include Missy Higgins (AUS), The Brother Brothers (USA), The East Pointers (CAN), Dean Owens and The Sinners (SCO).<\/p>\n

The 48th edition of the Port Fairy Folk Festival will take place in Port Fairy, from March 7 to March 10, 2025.<\/p>\n
