{"id":146802,"date":"2024-09-26T09:53:08","date_gmt":"2024-09-25T23:53:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=146802"},"modified":"2024-09-26T10:01:41","modified_gmt":"2024-09-26T00:01:41","slug":"dogs-strut-the-catwalk-at-annual-fashion-parade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/dogs-strut-the-catwalk-at-annual-fashion-parade\/","title":{"rendered":"Dogs strut the catwalk at annual fashion parade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SURF Coast residents and their canine pals were strutting their stuff on Sunday afternoon for this year&#8217;s Salty Dog Caf\u00e9 Pooch Parade on Fisherman&#8217;s Beach.<\/p>\n<p>The annual fashion parade, which was cancelled last year, raised funds for the Geelong Animal Welfare Society (GAWS) through its entry fees with prizes for numerous categories.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 681px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/09\/IMG_9388_36190.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"681\" height=\"454\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Rocco is ready for the summer.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The parade was supported by Pet Botanica, PetStock, Fur Life Vet and Torquay and Surfcoast Veterinary Clinics for this year&#8217;s event.<\/p>\n<p>Awards categories included best dressed pooches across small, medium, large and extra-large breeds, best dressed pooch and owner combination, and best dog trick.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 630px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/09\/IMG_9360_83296.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"630\" height=\"420\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Local Phoebe Crockett with golden retriever Jup.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Salty Dog Caf\u00e9 owner and event organiser James Zocchi stated 44 dogs entered into this year&#8217;s parade.<\/p>\n<p>The event also raised $1,500 on the day and will be matched by the local establishment, raising this year&#8217;s donation to GAWS to $3,000.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 545px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/09\/IMG_9245_55453.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"545\" height=\"363\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dixie the Frenchie was at her 12-legged best.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It is estimated more than 200 people watched the event.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SURF Coast residents and their canine pals were strutting their stuff on Sunday afternoon for this year&#8217;s Salty Dog Caf\u00e9 Pooch Parade on Fisherman&#8217;s Beach.
