{"id":149812,"date":"2024-11-08T05:00:25","date_gmt":"2024-11-07T18:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=149812"},"modified":"2024-11-08T14:45:10","modified_gmt":"2024-11-08T03:45:10","slug":"surf-coast-shire-provisional-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/surf-coast-shire-provisional-results\/","title":{"rendered":"New Surf Coast Shire council provisionally elected"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE new Surf Coast Shire council has taken shape, with all councillors provisionally elected earlier today (Thursday, November 7).<\/p>\n<p>New faces will make up nearly half of the nine-member council, with five of the incumbent councillors re-elected.<\/p>\n<p>The Victorian Electoral Commission calculated the distribution of votes and preferences from this year&#8217;s local council election at its Surf Coast Shire electorate office in Torquay, with several candidates or their representatives in attendance.<\/p>\n<p>Provisionally elected councillors are listed below in alphabetical order by ward and in the order they were elected by preferences.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Otway Range Ward:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>LIbby Stapleton<\/li>\n<li>Leon Walker<\/li>\n<li>Mike Bodsworth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Torquay Ward:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Liz Pattison<\/li>\n<li>Rebecca Bourke<\/li>\n<li>Paul Barker.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Winchelsea Ward:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Joel Grist<\/li>\n<li>Tony Phelps<\/li>\n<li>Adrian Schonfelder.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These councillors will not be formally elected until the VEC&#8217;s declaration ceremony for the Surf Coast Shire, which will be held in the shire&#8217;s council chambers in Torquay tomorrow (Friday, November 8) at 11am.<\/p>\n<p>Calculation of the City of Greater Geelong&#8217;s vote count will take place this Saturday, November 9, with councillors to be declared on Tuesday, November 12 at 11am.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, head to <a href=\"https:\/\/vec.vic.gov.au\/voting\/2024-local-council-elections\">vec.vic.gov.au\/voting\/2024-local-council-elections<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE new Surf Coast Shire council has taken shape, with all councillors provisionally elected earlier today (Thursday, November 7).
