{"id":149963,"date":"2024-11-20T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-11-19T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=149963"},"modified":"2024-11-14T15:25:33","modified_gmt":"2024-11-14T04:25:33","slug":"entries-open-for-danger-ocean-swim-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/entries-open-for-danger-ocean-swim-series\/","title":{"rendered":"Entries open for Danger Ocean Swim Series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ENTRIES are now open for one of the Australia&#8217;s top swim events, the Danger Ocean Swim Series on the Surf Coast.<\/p>\n<p>The event will return for its 26th edition on January 4, 2025 at Point Danger in Torquay.<\/p>\n<p>Swimmers will compete in four different race lengths \u2013 500m, 1000m, 2.5km and the ultimate 5km race.<\/p>\n<p>A Danger Dash wade event will also be run for children aged 6-12 years old.<\/p>\n<p>Jan Juc SLSC president Brett Thompson said excitement was high for the return of the popular summer event.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Its a major fundraiser for the club and helps us raise important funds to keep our life saving services on the beach.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The club can only put on this event with the support and hard work of our volunteer members who do a great job in delivering the event and providing water safety.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In 2024, there were over 1000 swimmers on the day, and we hope to have even more swimmers in the water in 2025.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Since its inception in 1999, the event has raised more than $450,000 for the Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club.<\/p>\n<p>Entries are now open at <a href=\"https:\/\/raceroster.com\/events\/2025\/95029\/danger-ocean-swims-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/raceroster.com\/events\/2025\/95029\/danger-ocean-swims-2025<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ENTRIES are now open for one of the Australia&#8217;s top swim events, the Danger Ocean Swim Series on the Surf Coast.
