McCartney Real Estate\u2019s Tim Carson claimed the “Top Agent \u2013 Total Value Sales, regional residential” title at the REA Group’s annual Excellence Awards, a surprise achievement for the Torquay-based agent, who hadn\u2019t expected to place among the top three.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt took me a bit by surprise,\u201d Carson said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had no idea I was in the top three when I received the news.\u201d<\/p>\n
Initially reluctant to attend, Carson decided to go after encouragement from his team.<\/p>\n
\u201cReceiving the award was a proud moment,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
The award marks a milestone for McCartney Real Estate, a family-run business that has operated in Torquay since 1952.<\/p>\n
Carson credits his team\u2019s dedication, particularly acknowledging his assistant, Kim Harrison-Riley<\/p>\n
\u201cI couldn\u2019t do it without her support,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The award also recognised the personal sacrifices Carson\u2019s family has made, with early starts and late nights.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis award is as much theirs as it is mine,\u201d Carson said, acknowledging his wife, Jo, and their three daughters for their ongoing support.<\/p>\n
Reflecting on the industry, Carson said he doesn\u2019t work with awards in mind but aims to achieve the best possible outcomes for his clients.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe don\u2019t do it for the awards. I just do my job to get the best possible price for my vendors,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
