WORKS at the intersection of Baanip Boulevard and Boundary Road are almost complete in Armstrong Creek.<\/p>\n
The City of Greater Geelong announced the $7.6 million project, a major part of the Armstrong Creek West Precinct Structure Plan, will open up a new transportation link to residents of the local community.<\/p>\n
Improvements include an extension of Boundary Road westward to the junction at Baanip Boulevard, construction of a three-leg signalised intersection with lighting at Baanip Boulevard, and new pedestrian linkages between the residential precinct and the north side of Baanip Boulevard.<\/p>\n
The city’s chief executive officer Ali Wastie said the improvements from the project were key to the city’s ongoing commitment to improving public and personal transport networks to and from the Armstrong Creek region.<\/p>\n
“With this new transport link, there will be better connection between the Armstrong Creek West precinct and the Mount Duneed Villawood development.<\/p>\n
“Even though the project looks finished, the site cannot be opened until energising is complete.<\/p>\n
“We thank the community for their understanding and patience while the final stage of the project is finished.”<\/p>\n
Civil works are already complete, but the intersection will not be opened until the site has been energised by the power authority, which is not expected to take place until early 2025.<\/p>\n
The community will not be able to use the pathways until the intersection is open and signals are active.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
