{"id":150926,"date":"2024-12-01T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-11-30T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=150926"},"modified":"2024-11-27T21:18:49","modified_gmt":"2024-11-27T10:18:49","slug":"community-feast-on-local-exhibition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/community-feast-on-local-exhibition\/","title":{"rendered":"Community feast on local exhibition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A FIRST of its kind art exhibition at Torquay&#8217;s Feast Studios has been met with huge community generosity and raised a significant amount for local therapeutic surf charity Ocean Mind.<\/p>\n<p>A sell-out crowd attended last Friday&#8217;s An ode to home show which spotlighted the familiar scenes of the Surf Coast.<\/p>\n<p>The event featured photographs from Torquay creative Frankie Kaye and a huge raffle with all proceeds going towards the charitable cause.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/12\/FEAST15622nov24_49742.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The event was met with plenty of community generosity.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ms Kaye&#8217;s work aimed to capture &#8220;the magic, energy, and romance of the places we love and make you want to return time and time again.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Feast Studios owner Georgia Dodd said the event was a huge success.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was just unbelievable; it was the most amazing turn out and we were able to raise a significant amount for Ocean Mind.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The support from local businesses for the raffle was incredible and people were buying up to ten raffle tickets each. We couldn&#8217;t believe the support.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/12\/FEAST11422nov24_49722.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The event featured plenty of art and a huge raffle which supported Ocean Mind.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Frankie&#8217;s work was just beautiful and represented the locals and local spots perfectly.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It will definitely go down as the biggest and most successful event we&#8217;ve hosted thus far.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ocean Mind founder Rachael Parker said the group was stoked with the support.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s great to have the local community getting behind Ocean Mind and raising funds.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The support from this fundraiser will go towards running program for young people in this community and assisting with their mental health challenges.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/12\/FEAST05222nov24_49780.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The exhibition featured photographs capturing special elements of the Surf Coast.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ms Kaye&#8217;s works will remain on show this weekend for the public to come and see.<\/p>\n<p>Feast Studios&#8217; opening hours are 10am-6pm Friday, and 10am-3pm both Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Any artists keen on exhibiting their works in the future are invited to get in contact with Feast Studios.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A FIRST of its kind art exhibition at Torquay&#8217;s Feast Studios has been met with huge community generosity and raised a significant amount for local therapeutic surf charity Ocean Mind.
