THE Geelong Cats has bolstered their AFLW ruck stocks after securing the signature of former Australian volleyballer Caitie Tipping.<\/p>\n
The 24-year-old has signed for three seasons, tying her to the hoops until at least the end of 2027.<\/p>\n
Standing at 191cm tall, Tipping is a multi-sport athlete who most recently played for the Link\u00f6ping Volleyboll Club in Sweden.<\/p>\n
Before switching codes to AFLW, Tipping was on a scholarship at the University of South Alabama in the USA and also played competitive soccer as a goalkeeper.<\/p>\n
Geelong Cats assistant general manager of football Brett Johnson welcomed Tipping to her new career as an AFLW footballer.<\/p>\n
“We are excited to welcome Caitie to the Cats,” he said.<\/p>\n
“She’s an exceptional athlete that will only continue to develop in the AFLW environment.<\/p>\n
“We believe Caitie is the perfect addition to our ruck and key position stocks.<\/p>\n
