MEMBERS of the Jan Juc SLSC shone a light on mental health and wellbeing at the club’s annual Blue Patrol last weekend.<\/p>\n

The men’s mental health initiative saw club members of all ages gather and share empowering stories and strengthen local support networks both on the beach and in the water.<\/p>\n

Jan Juc SLSC lifesaving operations manager Olivia Jenkins said bad weather did not dampen participants’ spirits on the day.<\/p>\n

“While the weather was a bit miserable, we still had a great day,” she said.<\/p>\n

“Some of our members wore blue, and we had streamers at the ready, but the weather didn’t allow us to [use them].<\/p>\n

“It [the patrol] has become really important for us.<\/p>\n

“It’s a great way to start conversations and promote men’s mental health.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
