{"id":152008,"date":"2024-12-13T12:47:52","date_gmt":"2024-12-13T01:47:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=152008"},"modified":"2024-12-13T12:50:17","modified_gmt":"2024-12-13T01:50:17","slug":"surf-coast-kerbside-rubbish-collection-changes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/surf-coast-kerbside-rubbish-collection-changes\/","title":{"rendered":"Surf Coast kerbside rubbish collection changes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KERBSIDE waste collections will change in the Surf Coast Shire as the holiday season arrives.<\/p>\n<p>Waste collection will not operate on Christmas Day, with collections instead happening the following day.<\/p>\n<p>From Wednesday, December 25 to Saturday December 28 collection days will be as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bins normally emptied on Wednesday, December 25 will be emptied on Thursday, December 26<\/li>\n<li>Bins normally emptied on Thursday, December 26 will be emptied on Friday, December 27, and<\/li>\n<li>Bins normally emptied on Friday, December 27 will be emptied on Saturday, December 28.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Collections will return to normal on Monday, December 30.<\/p>\n<p>All households will also receive additions waste and recycling collections between Christmas Day and the middle of January.<\/p>\n<p>Extra collection dates can be found on the SCRRApp or by heading to <a href=\"http:\/\/surfcoast.vic.gov.au\/collections\"><strong>surfcoast.vic.gov.au\/collections<\/strong> <\/a>and entering your address.<\/p>\n<p>All four bins will be collected in North Lorne for properties north of Erskine River, Eastern View and Moggs Creek on Monday, January 6.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, January 7 the Moriac urban collection and Winchelsea urban collection will take place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe all know during this busy time that extra rubbish accumulates, so it is great to have these extra collections,\u201d Cr Leon Walker said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMake sure you use SCRRApp, Surf Coast Shire\u2019s very own rubbish and recycling app. It is so easy to see the bin changes and extra collection for your house on the app.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is also an A-Z guide that tells you which bin your rubbish goes in. It\u2019s simple to put the right waste in the right bin with the app.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Residents are reminded to leave a 0.5m space between their bins to make it easier for truck drivers, and not to overfill bins.<\/p>\n<p>Kerbside waste collection and the opening hours of the transfer stations may change in the event of extreme weather, with changes announced on Council\u2019s social media pages and the SCRRApp.<\/p>\n<p>The shire&#8217;s transfer stations will open for longer hours throughout January.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KERBSIDE waste collections will change in the Surf Coast Shire as the holiday season arrives.
