{"id":152057,"date":"2024-12-25T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-24T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=152057"},"modified":"2024-12-17T16:16:48","modified_gmt":"2024-12-17T05:16:48","slug":"rock-2-ramp-inches-closer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/rock-2-ramp-inches-closer\/","title":{"rendered":"Rock 2 Ramp inches closer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MORE than 1,000 swimmers will enter the water at Anglesea next weekend for the 29th edition of the Rock2Ramp Ocean Swim.<\/p>\n<p>The December 28 event promises to be a celebration of fitness, community spirit and open water talent, and raises funds for the Anglesea SLSC.<\/p>\n<p>The Rock2Ramp will start at &#8220;Soapy&#8217;s&#8221; rock near Point Roadknight and feature four course lengths for people of all abilities.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/12\/Rock2Ramp2_09770.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Young people can complete the 200m or 300m Kids Dash.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Competitors can complete the 200m or 300m Kids Dash, the 600m, the 1.2km course or the 2.5km marathon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Anglesea Surf Lifesaving Club president David Marsh said excitement was high for the return of the popular event.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are thrilled to bring the Burson Rock2Ramp Ocean Swim back for its 29th year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Last year&#8217;s event was a huge success, with over 1,000 swimmers taking part, and we&#8217;re excited to see even more people join us this year.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/12\/Rock2Ramp3_09826.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">All funds raised at the event go towards the Anglesea Surf Life Saving Club.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Whether you&#8217;re a competitive swimmer, someone who has never done an ocean swim, or a primary school aged kid, this event offers something for everyone.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr Marsh said the introduction of the new 1.2km A-Z Plumbing Open Dash for Cash category would be a marquee irace on the program.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s $1,000 in prize money on the line for male and female placegetters, so we&#8217;re sure this is going to be a popular category for swimmers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the swims, there will be a massage tent from Move Beyond, food stalls and plenty of other activities.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the event and course details, head to <a href=\"http:\/\/rock2ramp.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rock2ramp.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MORE than 1,000 swimmers will enter the water at Anglesea next weekend for the 29th edition of the Rock2Ramp Ocean Swim.
