{"id":152217,"date":"2024-12-24T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-23T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=152217"},"modified":"2024-12-18T09:59:11","modified_gmt":"2024-12-17T22:59:11","slug":"program-locked-in-for-bells-beach-surf-film-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/program-locked-in-for-bells-beach-surf-film-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"Program locked in for Bells Beach Surf Film Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE world&#8217;s best surf films will land on the Surf Coast at the Australian Surf Museum next year.<\/p>\n<p>The Bells Beach Surf Film Festival released its bumper lineup via social media on Thursday last week.<\/p>\n<p>Held from January 2 to January 4, the 14th annual event will present 10 surf films and several special guest speakers.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/12\/PoC_FINAL_SEP_2021.0_67384.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Point of Change tells the story of a group of surfers discovering the famed surf break Nias.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It will feature cult film Jay Phillips Isn&#8217;t Dead, biopic Belinda, local film Solly and a special screening of African Territory II.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees will also see Walkabout, which documents the life of Indigenous surfer Robbie Page, and Point of Change, which tells the story of a group of surfers who discover the famed surf break Nias.<\/p>\n<p>Festival director John Foss said he was confident the event would sell out, following back-to-back years of strong attendance numbers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are stoked to be bringing the world&#8217;s best surf films to Torquay in 2025.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 602px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/12\/Patagonia_KIN_TrentM_67314.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"602\" height=\"401\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The festival will feature 10 films and several guest speakers.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The festival opens with Jay Phillips Isn&#8217;t Dead and features Solly, Belinda and the beautiful Children of Teahupo&#8217;o.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Friday night we have a special screening of African Territory II as the Azulay brothers continue their epic surf adventure along the coast of Africa.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Point of Change will also be popular.
