An analysis of energy costs in NSW, Vic and SA between Jan 2023 and Sept 2024 found that TOU customers are paying more than flat-rate customers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In <\/span>New South Wales<\/span> TOU customers are paying 35% more. <\/span>Victoria<\/span> isn\u2019t far behind, with similar trends showing higher bills for TOU customers. And in<\/span> South Australia<\/span>,<\/span> the difference reaches a staggering 39%.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is likely due to households being unable to avoid peak hours due to inflexible schedules or lack of awareness.<\/span><\/p>\n

Over 60% of TOU customers didn\u2019t know they were paying more, so clearly there\u2019s a need for better <\/span>consumer education<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
