{"id":152544,"date":"2024-12-30T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-29T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=152544"},"modified":"2024-12-19T11:02:52","modified_gmt":"2024-12-19T00:02:52","slug":"shire-sets-council-meeting-calendar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/shire-sets-council-meeting-calendar\/","title":{"rendered":"Shire sets council meeting calendar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Surf Coast Shire has released its council meeting schedule for 2025, with meetings to be held in all wards of the shire.<\/p>\n<p>The first council meeting of the year will take place next month, with monthly meetings to again be held on Tuesday nights.<\/p>\n<p>The majority of meetings will be held in the shire&#8217;s Torquay offices, with the March meeting to take place in the Otway Range Ward and the August meeting in the Winchelsea Ward.<\/p>\n<p>Otway Range Ward councillor Leon Walker said he was happy to see a meeting being held in both the Otway Range and Winchelsea wards.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is part of making the council and our decision-making processes more accessible to people across the shire.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Watching these meetings is a great way for residents to see shire issues communicated and resolved whilst understanding the reasoning behind strategic decisions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The community is welcome to attend any of our council meetings either in person or online.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They will all be livestreamed with live captions, plus you can watch the recording later.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s Surf Coast Shire council meeting schedule:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>February 25 &#8211; shire offices, 1 Merrijig Drive, Torquay<\/li>\n<li>March 25 &#8211; offsite meeting, Otway Range Ward<\/li>\n<li>April 29 &#8211; shire offices, Torquay<\/li>\n<li>May 27 &#8211; shire offices, Torquay<\/li>\n<li>June 24 &#8211; shire offices, Torquay<\/li>\n<li>July 22 &#8211; shire offices, Torquay<\/li>\n<li>August 26 &#8211; offsite meeting, Winchelsea Ward<\/li>\n<li>September 23 &#8211; shire offices, Torquay<\/li>\n<li>October 28 &#8211; shire offices, Torquay<\/li>\n<li>November 25 &#8211; shire offices, Torquay, and<\/li>\n<li>December 9 &#8211; shire offices, Torquay.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All meetings will start at 6pm.<\/p>\n<p>The exact locations of offsite meetings to be confirmed closer to the meeting date.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, head to <a href=\"http:\/\/surfcoast.vic.gov.au\/meetings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">surfcoast.vic.gov.au\/meetings<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE Surf Coast Shire has released its council meeting schedule for 2025, with meetings to be held in all wards of the shire.
