{"id":153133,"date":"2025-01-15T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-14T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=153133"},"modified":"2025-01-09T10:12:17","modified_gmt":"2025-01-08T23:12:17","slug":"kids-art-bash-makes-a-big-splash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/kids-art-bash-makes-a-big-splash\/","title":{"rendered":"Kids Art Bash makes a big splash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HUNDREDS of children have flocked to Anglesea since the start of 2025 to be part of the annual Kids Art Bash.<\/p>\n<p>The event, which is based at Anglesea Art House, began on Thursday last week and has seen local and holidaying children turn out to create, paint and decorate.<\/p>\n<p>Art activities include painting on canvas, ceramic painting and mosaics, and making dreamcatchers, jelly fish, spiders and air-dry clay modelling.<\/p>\n<p>Kids Art Bash convenor and Anglesea Art House president Jennifer O&#8217;Sullivan said its opening week far exceeded expectations.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 401px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/01\/472425160_1823713606_34749.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"401\" height=\"501\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Participants can take part in a wide range of art projects.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We were so busy that we had parents and kids in every nook and cranny. It&#8217;s been a massive success. The response has been fabulous.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a thrill to run it. It&#8217;s been happening every summer for 27 years and it is so much fun. It&#8217;s our way of giving back to the community.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We love to see the smiling faces when a project is completed. The kids are just so excited to be part of it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ms O&#8217;Sullivan said there are still plenty of canvases, wooden shapes to paint and a huge selection of other projects ready for participants to try.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/01\/472263781_1823689972_34722.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The event has already far exceeded expectations during its first week.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There are also a variety of crafts in Art To Go bags which can be purchased to take home.<\/p>\n<p>The Kids Art Bash continues until January 22.<\/p>\n<p>Opening hours are from 10am to 4pm.<\/p>\n<p>Daily drop-in sessions range from $3 to $25, depending on what is being created.<\/p>\n<p>No bookings are needed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HUNDREDS of children have flocked to Anglesea since the start of 2025 to be part of the annual Kids Art Bash.
