A POPULAR community book fundraising extravaganza returns for its ninth year next week to support local charities in the region.<\/p>\n
The Torquay Rotary Book Fair will take place across three days (January 17 to January 19) at Surf Coast Secondary College in Torquay North.<\/p>\n
Book lovers will have the opportunity to purchase an assortment of titles for $2 each, or a bag of 15 books for $10.<\/p>\n
Fiction, non-fiction, romance, children’s picture, sport, biographies and plenty more will be up for grabs.<\/p>\n
All funds raised from the event will be channeled into local causes including Torquay Community House and educational awards across all primary schools in the Surf Coast Shire.<\/p>\n
Torquay Rotary Club member Neil Henderson said excitement was sky-high among their team to make a difference to those in need.<\/p>\n
“We are really excited to run the Book Fair again. This will be our ninth one.<\/p>\n
“We’ve got another great selection of books.<\/p>\n
“A huge thanks to Surf Coast Secondary College for having us again.<\/p>\n
“Don’t miss out on a bargain. Be there, then go home, relax and have a good read.”<\/p>\n
Mr Henderson said the club was also rapt to have the support of Geelong Story Dogs for its 2025 fair.<\/p>\n
The local service organisation will be bringing a reading dog to Torquay on January 18 to assist young children with their reading.<\/p>\n
This will take place from 10am-12pm.<\/p>\n
