{"id":153620,"date":"2025-01-19T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-18T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/?p=153620"},"modified":"2025-01-16T12:14:54","modified_gmt":"2025-01-16T01:14:54","slug":"towering-ship-to-lead-2025-passage-race-at-festival-of-sails","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/towering-ship-to-lead-2025-passage-race-at-festival-of-sails\/","title":{"rendered":"Young Endeavour to lead 2025 Passage Race at Festival of Sails"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE tall ship STS <em>Young Endeavour<\/em> will lead the start of the 182nd Melbourne to Geelong Passage Race at the 2025 Festival of Sails.<\/p>\n<p>Its towering masts and sails will be stretched high into the sky to kick off an unforgettable weekend in Geelong from January 25 to January 27.<\/p>\n<p>The<em> Young Endeavour<\/em> will accompany the fleet of more than 300 boats through the entirety of the Passage Race and will then be docked at Wangim Walk for festival attendees to explore.<\/p>\n<p>Festival of Sails chairman Phil Francis said the ship&#8217;s inclusion in the festival would be a cherished moment in the event&#8217;s rich history.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are excited to have the STS <em>Young Endeavour<\/em> take on such a pivotal role at the 2025 Festival of Sails,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This historic moment, with a tall ship leading the charge, truly highlights the festival&#8217;s legacy and the significance of the Melbourne to Geelong Passage Race.
